I will be on a plane, headed for (hopefully) the best two months of my life. I can’t believe that after almost a year of waiting, horrible 4 weeks of classes and a seemingly impossible task of cooking an authentic Northern Italian meal for 25, that we’re almost there. The people in our group are really nice, I think that I will have alot of fun with most of them. Tonight we have a dinner, cooked by one of our professors, which will be the last time I will see everyone before we all meet at the Lufthansa desk in Atlanta. However, I still have to:

1. Edit and resubmit a paper

2. Update my resume and write a cover letter for an internship

3. Write a tour report for the winery we visited

4. Research the Boboli Gardens for a history paper

5. Write three reports on various subjects of religious art

6. Pack

I can’t wait for Italy. Its going to be such an adventure.

I haven’t introduced myself! Well, I’m sure many people that are reading this know who I am, but for y’all that don’t: I’m a junior political science major at a private, small, southern university. I love my school, even though it isn’t quite everything that I thought it would be. I have really no idea what I want to do with my life, and I kind of need to get on that, considering that I am standing on the edge of the real world, and are about to fall in, head first, without a net to catch me. I desperately do not want to grow up. 

I love old cars, great food, the outdoors and (as one friend would say) weird movies and music.

I fear being alone in the dark, spelling bees, and losing teeth.

 So what do I do? Make a Tumblr, that makes sense! Like any normal college student, I’m always looking for a way to procrastinate, but I like to procrastinate in a somewhat useful manner. I had considered making some sort of a blog in the past; I have read some really fantastic ones and many people I admire have one. However, I felt that I needed a specific reason to start one; my normal life isn’t that interesting! So, a blog on Italy it is! 

The two month mark until our trip in sometime this week, its sort of scary. I really don’t feel prepared for a two month trip to a foreign county, but I really don’t know how one can feel prepared for something like this. I’ve never been out of the country or flown on a plane, so this will definitely be an extreme experience. I never ease myself into anything, its go big or go home. However, I’m extremely excited for this experience!
